The Terrorist Next Door is inspired by real events surrounding the recruitment and the capture of Ahmed Ressam, convicted of having brought a bomb on the territory of the United States to realize the plan of the terrorist group Al Qaeda to blow up the Los Angeles airport on the eve of New Year’s Day 1999. The Terrorist Next Door shows us the very human story of a young Algerian immigrant named Ressam (Chenier Hundal), from his arrival in Montreal to his recruitment by Majid (Reda Guerinik) the head of a sleeper cell of Al Qaeda. Kathleen Robertson plays the role of Nicole, the wife of the chief magnetism undeniable, a woman converted to Islam for the man she loves, a woman blind to the fact that many trips with her husband for a charity have not a charitable purpose as it claims. The world collapses when an old Nicole’s flame, now part of the Canadian Intelligence Service (Chris William Martin) appears in his life and tries desperately to make her understand that her husband is deeply involved in terrorist activities and that he married her only for use as cover. But the events are already taking place and the race to stop Ressam before he can implement his terrible mission … in Los Angeles
